Tel Aviv University soars into space Research nanosatellite TAU-SAT1 launched into orbit
The miniature satellite – the first to be designed, assembled and tested on an Israeli campus – will measure cosmic radiation around the earth The nanosatellite will orbit the earth at a speed of 27,600 km per hour, or 7.6 km per second, completing 1 orbit every 90 minutes. The scientific information collected in space by the detectors developed at the Soreq Nuclear Research Center (SNRC) will help design better protective gear for astronauts and space systems. Top News

President Rivlin: “We are setting out on a new path, familiar but different, at the end of which we hope to land three spacecraft safely on the moon.
