Galina Mintz and Ania Liptser– Tando Exhibition "Crazy Cage: Illusion Unlocked" Shown at “Art Space”, Frishman 46, Tel Aviv. Gallery Opening: Saturday, November 8, 2025 at: 12:00

Inside each of us exists a cage – made of fears, conventions, memories, and prejudices. Sometimes it's transparent, sometimes golden, and sometimes wild and stormy.

The exhibition "Crazy Cage: Illusion Unlocked" invites us to examine this cage closely – not to remain within it, but to break free from it.

The works presented in the exhibition explore the dialogue between limitation and freedom, between illusion and reality, between inner chaos and hope.

It is a personal and emotional journey, born from an inner need to release thoughts, feelings, and images that have accumulated over time.

Between black ink and vivid colors, between Japanese tradition and Western emotion, the artworks move as if within a crazy cage – a cage of contrasts, impulses, and roots.

The black ink symbolizes depth, fear, serenity, and a sense of belonging. The color represents impulse, hope, emotion, and life. Between them exists a space of struggle and fusion, a transition that invites the viewer to ask: must we choose? Or perhaps true freedom lies in the union of opposites, in the illusion that leads to liberation?

The exhibition space is divided into several zones, each representing a visual metaphor of the inner cage and the possibility of escaping it. Our imagination and emotions are trapped in a mental cage, controlled by culture, technology, and social expectations; the illusion of freedom, where dreams circle in a closed loop like aquarium fish. The surreal zoo is full of imaginary, free creatures — but the real cage is around the viewer, trapped by a lack of imagination. The viewer enters the cage not out of fear but drawn by a quiet curiosity — as if the bars are not barriers, but mirrors reflecting forgotten dreams, and the lock turns at the touch of wonder.

Is illusion a prison or a gateway? Is imagination a refuge or a compass?

This is a space where colors speak the language of dreams, and the images invite the viewer to release themselves – even for a moment – from frameworks, definitions, and expectations.

Because freedom, ultimately, begins from within.
